This home located in the Aldridge Place/Hemphill Park Neighborhood of Austin is a wonderful example of tudor revival architecture. It was built for Paul Simms, an early Austin land developer. Mr. Simms developed one of the first subdivisions in East Austin as well as Travis Heights. He hired Edwin Kreisle to build the home in 1925. They actually built and lived in the small apartment in the back of the property in 1923 before the larger home was completed. He also hired Peter Mansbendel to carve his mantle and possibly execute the beams. The home is also is graced by F. Weigl ironwork.
